Demi's POV
"How was you sleepover weekend with Selena?" Joe asked me as I sat in the passanger seat of his car to go to school. I was a junior and he was a senior, only a year older than me, but he acted like my brother. We were best-friends, but I had a crush on him for like forever, actually a couple of years, when I entered high school and we started driving together to school. "It was great, we did lots of talking and thinking" I replied as I fastened my seat belt. "What did you talk about?" He asked, he was just so curious about girls sleepover. "About the huge crush Selena has on your best-friend Nick" I replayed. "We could get them together, he has a crush on her too" I smiled and nod
"And the thinking?" Oh my... the thinking was hard to explained, so I made it simple "Sterling asked me out on Friday" I stopped talking, I wanted to see if he had any reaction, but he asked what I didn't want him to ask me "And what did you tell him?" "That I didn't know" "What kind of answer is that Demi? Either you like him or you don't" " I do like him" "So what's the problem?"He asked confuse. "Argh! The problem is you, stupid". How I wish I could say that instead I said "The problem is that there is someone else I like more, but I have no option with him" "Does Sterling know?" "Yes" I simply replied. Everyone knew I had a crush on Joe, except for Joe and his stupid girlfriend Chelsea, who hated me, just because Joe drove me to school. "So why didn't you say no?" "Because I'm thinking on saying yes, I want to forget about this other guy" He turn to me we have already arrived at school "That's good Demi, He doesn't deserve you if he hasn't notice you" "Nothing is going to change" I babble "thanks for the ride, see you after school" I jumped of his car and met Selena in the front door.
"Did you tell him about Sterling?" I nod "Nothing?" I nod again "He is stupid he just told me that this guy I like doesn't deserve me if he hadn't notice me, I don't think he would have said that if he knew it was himself, but he is right, he doesn't deserve me". I saw Sterling and Nick, "Sel, I'll see you in class, there is someone I have to talk too" and I run to them. "Hey Nick, Sterling" I smiled to both "Hey mi" Nick greet me, Sterling stood quiet "Nick, do me a favor and be brave and go and ask Selena out, NOW!" he smiled, nod and left to look for Selena. That left Sterling and me alone. "So...?" Sterling said akwardly "Yes" "Yes?" "I told you I'll think about it, I want to forget him, and I think I can fall in love with you, so the answer is yes" he smiled big and hugged me, and then he kissed me "I'll see you at Lunch Demi" he left with a smile on his face, and left me there in the middle of the hallway thinking that this wasn't right, that I didn't felt sparks, not like my first kiss, that was right, not this but I had to forget about him. And so like that I started to go out with Sterling, Joe's other best friend.
From then on we went on triple dates, Nick, Selena, Joe, Chelsea, Sterling and me. Joe and I were still close, and nothing really change, and by that I mean that I didn't fall in love with Sterling and each day I fell more and more in love with Joe. Until prom, well their prom, they were all senior except for Selena and me and they took us to their prom. It was fantastic and incredible, we had a perfect night, I even danced with Joe.
My senior year was hard, and French college had contacted me to go there to study art, my passion and I worked very hard that year to achieve it. And I made it. I left to France after a wonderful summer with all my friends, except Sterling, he was travelling with his parents, so everything was perfect, except for the fact that Joe was still with Chelsea in college and they were doing great.
