Fred Ivey filmed the work to restore rail services following the accident on 19 September 1997. The accident involved a London bound HST travelling at 125 mph with its ATP (automatic train protection) cut out ploughing into a freight train leaving the yard. Seven people were killed and 139 injured. Train services were restored on two lines on 22 September and all 4 lines on 23 September.
