Elvis thought, "Blue Moon of Kentucky," the anthem of one of his idols, Bill Monroe, would be his first hit. It turned out that over time the public liked "That's All Right" more but Elvis was proud of his twist on this Bluegrass standard. He was a little taken aback when the Grand Ole Opry audience didn't respond and nervous when he went backstage and saw its creator -- Bill Monroe. This is what happened.
