2001 Earnhardt Crash NBC News Coverage

Looking at an old tape of the 2001 Daytona 500, I was surprised to find that at the end I had recorded some miscellaneous news coverage of the crash. This was on NBC News the night after and has some interesting safety info, especially all these years after, now that the HANS device is pretty standard. There are still some situations where the HANS won't save you I guess—the recent incidents with Henry Surtees and Felipe Massa for example. I don't know if Carlos Pardo was wearing one, but I don't suppose it would have done much good in his case either.
