Troy Is Not Sorry To Gabriella

 

{{Not Shown} Troy and Gabriella have a fight and they stay away from each other for a while, not wanting to see each other's face. So they take a break from one another to think about what happened. {{Shown}} Gabriella is standing out on her balcony after their fight, thinking about what just happened. She all of sudden sees Troy playing basketball in the yard next to hers, and frowns when he throws the ball angrily against the fence after several misses. Troy, still undecided and exhausted, flops down on the grass. Meanwhile, Gabriella is trying to summon the courage to speak to him, and apologize for doing this to their relationship. Its very difficult because she's never had to make this decision, being their relationship had flowed smoothly since she could remember. Troy, on the other hand, still very much undecided, makes a visit to the school stage room to find Gabriella, but instead he sees Sharpay, who is practicing her act for the next show. He suddenly sees her in a new light and he feels very confused. Gabriella has now decided and she makes her way to the stage room as well, thinking Troy will be there too, and she has high hopes that he'll accept her home with open arms. Now Troy has stepped out from behind the curtain and quickly goes to Sharpay and makes his move on her, his mind is still in a confused knot. Gabriella finally makes it and hesitates at the door before stepping in to see Troy and Sharpay kissing passionately on the stage, and he heart aches. She immediately turns around and trips noisily down the hallway, unable to control the racking sobs escaping her. Then, Troy sees her and ditches Sharpay, quickly running after Gabriella, because he has finally decided on what he'll do. They meet on the bridge and he yells, "Gabriella!" She turns and they soon advance until their fingers are intertwined. All Troy can mutter at the moment is a pain-filled, "Sorry." Gabriella just produces an almost soundless, "Someday..." She reaches up and places her shaking palm on his cheek. In an act of desperation, he places his hand on hers, hoping to make this moment last forever. Before Gabriella can cry, she breaks away and runs toward home, leaving a broken Troy behind her. Gabriella starts to think about him and envisions conversations they once had, and remembers every time he lied to her, but she never seemed to care. Its then that she realizes that she truly loves him, and nothing will ever change. They later meet at the pool a day later and only silence fills the air, until Troy says, "I called last night." Gabriella presses her lips in a thin line, refusing to speak. He leaves and she starts to cry silently. Its then that they both realize the awful truth that they are forever apart, all because Troy was sorry too late.
