Former Presidents To Dine With Obama

 

On Wednesday [January 7th], all the living U.S. presidents will lunch at the White House with President-elect Barack Obama. Scholars say the luncheon, planned for the days leading up to Mr. Obama's inauguration, will serve as a symbol of American government and the rule of law. Current and former presidents occasionally gather although mostly it is at the funeral of another. VOA's Jim Fry looks ahead at the meeting and its symbolism.
